When God created Jesus, the second Adam, it was a time of rejoicing. We had been given a King to sit upon the throne of David that would lead the people to God. The virgin birth was important for Jesus to be without sin, but we were never told to celebrate Jesus’ birth, only his death (the Passover). For it was through his death that a new covenant was sealed, giving a chance for all men to seek the eternal adoption in the Father.
God’s love is so great for his Creation that He gave us a redeemer, a perfect lamb that would seal what was left undone from the beginning of Creation, the obedience of man. And Jesus was obedient and faithful and because of that God accepted his sacrifice for our sins and gave Jesus power over everything, only God is above Jesus(1 Corinthians 15:21-28). As Jesus is our appointed mediator by God, he warns us though man may use his name(for God says on the mount of transfiguration that all are to go through Jesus), if there is any evil within, Jesus is not truly a part of it. For in good there is no evil whatsoever (James 3:11, Luke 6:43).
Satan is known as the father of liars (John 8:44), and Revelation states that all liars are shall not enter into the Kingdom of God(Revelation 21:8).

Parents lie to their own children telling them to be good for Santa Claus when he does not exist. Filling their heads with stories of Santa coming down the chimneys and such. People are lying to their children because of Christmas. Worst even, parents teach their children to write to Santa, be good for Santa or you will not get gifts.

What happened to being good for God? What happened to praying to God? Asking God for what you need? Although God is full of love we must remember, “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images” (Isaiah 42:8). God’s name is jealous. And because of this festival people are taking the glory of God away and giving it to Santa Claus. I think of this verse when I think of what this season is about, people “who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen” (
Romans 1:25).

I know that there is a history on the Christmas Tree for it was before Jesus was born, but that can be looked into if you wish to. Right now I want to focus on the Bible. God says have no graven images but what is the Christmas tree? Do people not put gifts under it? Do people not sing around it? Is that not worshipping? Take a look at this passage in Jeremiah that I find very familiar to the Christmas Tree:

Jeremiah 10:3-5 (King James Version)

3For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

And so Christmas is not a time of rejoicing for me, but of sadness for the sin, lust (wanting material things and things of this world instead of heavenly gifts) and evil that has been using Jesus’ name through lies and deceit.

According to Luke, Jesus was not even born in December. But that is more research that I can share if you desire to know, although it is important, one truth remains. God does not tolerate liars nor does He take lightly those taking away His glory. My love for God and for Jesus who died for me is the reason I do not celebrate Christmas, because in the truth that has been made known to me by God, it has nothing to truly do with what Jesus is about for he is about worshipping God and separating oneself from all evil.

I cannot deny the truth that has been made known to me. Here I have shared with you what has been made known to me about our God and also about the man Jesus who sits on the right hand of God, who because of him, we are able today to search and work through faith to give our hearts and minds to God.

I know that many people do not wish to hear these words that have been written. For they are difficult at first, but I hope and pray that if you read with an heart open to God you will know that all I am doing is not for myself but for our Father in heaven who we all strive to know. This is a hard saying, but I truly believe this is God’s will.

I know these sayings are different maybe even from anything you have ever heard, but when we are told to separate ourselves from the world, to carry our cross, that evil can wear sheep’s clothing and that in the end it is about worshipping God, sometimes we must review ourselves and be sure customs and tradition has not lead us astray from the truth. Glory, honour and praise be to our Creator.

May truth and righteousness dwell with you.
